Jan 17 - Jan 21 Calling Andy! Clean up on Aisle Cylinder! - Rendering Cylinders in the style of Andy Warhol in Marker. Artist - Andy Warhol.
Jan 24 - Jan 28 Breaking it down like downtown. - Rendering objects that use multiple shapes in pencil. Artist - Cezanne
Jan 31 - Feb 01 Its all in the family - Working from a still life of junk food that uses all forms we have learned about in the previous lessons in marker. Artist - Flack.
Feb 7 - Feb 11 All mixed up - Creating cubist abstract portraits like Picasso in oil pastel.
Feb 14 - Feb 18 Story of the line - Discovering and creating our own kente cloth patterns in collage.
Feb 21 - Feb 25 Story of the shape - Looking at and creating our pieces in the style of Mondrian in marker.
Feb 28 - Mar 4 All across the universe - Studying and creating a color wheels that is similar to the map of the universe.
Mar 4 - Mar 11 Review Week - Completing any unfinished art work and end of 9 weeks test.
Assessments (May include, but not limited to):
Draw an object (simple / complex) using only contour lines
Draw a composition of hands using contour lines
Draw a composition of grouped objects illustrating line quality and variation and using a variety of materials and technique
Create a value chart illustrating the understanding of value and value changes
Draw basic shapes (circle, square, & triangle)
Render basic forms using a light source
Render basic geometric forms-within-forms, i.e., bottles, boxes, cans,
Create a simple still life of objects illustrating understanding of shapes-within-shapes and create the illusion of form using understandings of various shading techniques
Create a rendering of complex still life compositions illustrating understanding of various shading techniques, spatial relationships, and awareness of light source and the Illusion of depth
Critique artworks to discuss theme and style (Use prints for discussing historical/cultural aspects, and the critiquing process)
