- Jan 03 - Jan 7 Cubes, Cubes! Why did it have to be cubes? - Creating a still life, in pencil, of cubic forms. Artist - Picasso with Still Life with Cherries.
- Jan 10 - Jan 14 A Bad Horror Movie - Drawing a deep and scary hallway using the design elements of Unity in charcoal in 1 point perspective using on of the following views worm’s eye view, bird’s eye view, or eye - level.
- Jan 17 - Jan 21 Power of a name - Using two point perspective students will use cubic forms including variety and contrast to create a design of their name in marker in the style of graffiti art.
- Jan 24 - Jan 28 I don’t know who you are space man! - Students will create an outer space composition using round cylindrical forms in oil pastel. Artists - O’Keefe, and Van Gogh
- Jan 31 - Feb 01 City on the River - Landscape using Memphis’s most noticeable landmark to create a landscape using pyramids and cone forms in colored pencil. Artists - Fish.
- Feb 7 - Feb 11 Finding a Story - Creating a single object still life that uses multiple shapes can multiple stories done in oil pastel. Artist - Sheeler.
- Feb 14 - Feb 18 Being your own Super Hero - Self Portrait Drawings using Oil Pastel - Artists Frida Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh
- Feb 21 - Feb 25 Finding it on the grid - Creating a comic book collage that will be created into a larger piece using a view finder and the grad method in Marker. Artist - Roy Lichtenstein
- Feb 28 - Mar4 Its written all over the walls -Using color theory, 2D Design Principles, Pattern, Variety and Contrast in colored pencil to create a wallpaper design.
- Mar 4 - Mar 11 Review Week - Completing any unfinished art work and end of 9 weeks test.
- Assessments/activities/projects/performances (may include but not limited to):
